GPL Week 21 Preview: RTU host Aduana; AshGold visits Hearts

The Ghana Premier League (GPL) enters the 14 game weeks over the weekend, after an end to the matchday 20.

Asante Kotoko are looking to run away with the league title after having an eight-point lead at the table of the table after 20 games played.

On matchday 21, the Porcupine Warriors face Eleven Wonders away from home as they seek to better their away record. With 16 points from nine games, Kotoko have won the most points on the road in the Premier League while Wonders have 16 points in nine home games this season.

On Friday, Karela United will welcome Medeama to the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in a local derby. A win for the Yellow and Mauve lads will see them climb to third while all three points for Karela will help their pursuit for a top-four finish.

Bechem United will be back at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park, where they play Accra Lions in a must-win game for the Hunters.

Bibiani Gold Stars have a date with Elmina Sharks at the Dun’s Park while Dreams FC and Great Olympics will go head-to-head at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu.

Olympics are hoping to close the gap between themselves and Kotoko while all three points will ensure they eclipse Aduana into the second position.

WAFA, who managed a needed win in their last game will hope to make it two wins in two games when they play Legon Cities at the El Wak Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Real Tamale United are also on a poor run of form after six winless games. But Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko’s men will look to overcome relegation fears when they welcome Aduana to the Aliu Mahama Stadium in the next fixture.

Accra Hearts of Oak welcomes AshantiGold at the Accra Sports Stadium, knowing that a defeat will not be good for them.

Hearts is on the sixth position on the league log and lost to Aduana last weekend while AshGold’s victory in the last game saw them go 11th.
