Betting and Pornography sites among the most visited websites in Ghana – Tech Geek reveals data

The top most visited websites in Ghana include pornography and betting websites, a search on online visibility management and content marketing platform, semrush.com shows.

Technology Consultant Kwabena Offei-Kwadey Nkrumah popularly known as Kobby Spiky Nkrumah revealed this data at the Ghana Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA)’s capacity building seminar organized for its members under the theme “Leveraging Digital Tools for Career Enhancement” at the Virtual Hub in East Legon in Accra.

The data revealed that, of the top 10 websites that Ghanaians visit the most, two of them are pornography websites and one is a sports betting website Betway.com.gh, Sportybet.com, and Betpawa.com.gh all appeared in the top 20 of the most visited websites in the country.

Adult content websites Xvideos.com and Xnxx.com also made the top 10 of the data from semrush.com.

Social media platform Facebook.com leads the chart of the most visited sites with 7.82M visits followed by online news portal Ghanaweb.com with 6.65M visits at the 2nd position.

Betway.com.gh and Betpawa.com.gh are 3rd and 4th with 4.08M and 3.46M visits respectively. Adult content website Xvideos.com comes in with 2.67M visits at the 5th position.

Wikipedia.org, Sportybet.com, Xnxx.com, Myjoyonline.com and Instagram.com made the top 10 list of the most visited sites in Ghana.

The data sparked a conversation between some of the top dignitaries who was at the seminar about the content appetite of Ghanaians.

Speaking on the topic “Leveraging Opportunities in the Digital World”, Tech Geek Kobby Spiky urged Ghanaian Musicians to take advantage of the internet to promote their brand and projects.

Topics was discussed at the seminar include, “Building and Managing Your Brand” by Prof Emmanuel Osei Akyeampong, “The New Music Business” which was presented by Ahuma Bosco Ocansey, an industry veteran and Director of Special Projects and Communications of MUSIGA and “Making Money in the Digital Space” was presented by Kwabena ‘Spikey’ Ofei Kwadey Nkrumah.

The seminar was live on Facebook on the Musicians Union of Ghana page.
